Nicolae Alexi was one of the most promissing authors of the "80's generation". He was a well-repu 757k1021h ted drawer when he came to "Animafilm"; he worked as an animator and scene-painter in Virgil Mocanu's team on the serial films he directed, such as Familia / The family. Alexi proved to have a genuine calling for poetic animation, in the only film he ever wrote and directed, Zmeul / The dragon, in 1980, made with graceful hachured figures. This is a film that nostalgicly conjures up childhood and sadly talks about letting it go; unfortunately, this was the only film made by this distinguished graphician, who is now a professor.
