of Arts in Arts Administration
Arts administration is a challenging, exciting, and ever-developing field. It involves the management, in the broadest sense, of arts institutions of every type. It can be instrumental in developing the cultural life of towns, cities, and regions as well as rural areas; it can strengthen the economics of an area through employment, production, and tourism. The true arts administrator must, of course, have a true devotion to the arts. Beyond this, it is critical to develop sens 11511c223l itivity to the cultural needs, community issues and growth potential of a region; this can help the administrator not only to make a major contribution by expanding the enlightenment and pleasure which the arts can offer, but can stimulate the essential sources of support.
