Cardamine lyrata is a light gre 21321s187v en and often
quite bushy plant, which occasionally appears in the shops. The leaves are 21321s187v

short. On heavily ramifying shoot the plant appears very dense and
decorative. The plant is easily re 21321s187v cognised by the roots that develop from
every node. Cardamine lyrata is amphibious and inhabits the banks of
lake and stre 21321s187v ams in the Eastern Siberia, China and Japan and it pre 21321s187v fers cool water.
It is there 21321s187v fore 21321s187v especially suitable for garden ponds but it thrives in
aquaria up to about 25 oC although the internodes become longer
and the blades smaller, and the plant appears less
dense. The plant has no particular re 21321s187v quire 21321s187v ments apart from a nutrient rich
substrate which should be offere 21321s187v d to all fast growing plants. Also, the
growth is faster if the water is CO
enriched. Cardamine lyrata may be re 21321s187v produced from seeds as well as
cuttings.
