Japanese Plants and Flowers

There are many different kinds of plants and flowers in Japanese Gardens. I will only be talking about and explaining a few of them. The first that I will be talking about is called the Ajisai. This is the most popular of several different varieties. It has t 848i83i rue blue flowers and blooms abundantly. It makes a striking note of color. The next one is the Asebi. This is an attractive shrub with twisting stems and leaves arranged in clusters. It has white bell shaped flowers resembling the California Manzanita. It is used in many gardens, but is also poisonous. The Boutan is popularly known as "Tree Paeony." There are many different kinds. Here are seven of them: 1) Kojo-no-tsuki: enormous flowers of white snow; 2) Bugaku-den: large pale pink double flowers; 3) Hyokai: which are large double white flowers; 4) Momoyama: enormous, very double flowers of pink.
Pictured at the left, is a picture of a bonsai tree. Most questions were asked about this tree frequently. Than, Karate Kid came out into theatres. Bonsai trees are usually planted in dishes or trays. It is a type of tree or shrub. The word Bonsai means "tray-planted." Bonsai trees can either be small-flowered or small-fruit trees. Bonsai trees come in four different sizes: miniature, small, medium and average. The miniatures are only about 2 inches in height. It takes this size about five years to mature. Smalls range from 2 to 6 inches. They take about five to ten years to train. 6 to 12 inches is the height of the medium bonsai and average are about 2 feet. Each one of these are produced in about three years. Bonsai trees are shaped by controlled wiring at the trunk and branches. Before the bark becomes scarred the wires must be removed.

Planting Laws
When it comes to planting trees there are specific planting law. There are three of them. They are: 1) grouping of trees; 2) Deciduous and Evergreen grouping; and 3) Natural planting, law of separation, point raising, poing lowering. Trees are planted in groups of one, three and five. Odd numbers make it easier to arrange than if they were grouped by even numbers. When grouping trees the same rules may be used of the grouping of trees. Next, flowering deciduous trees were much in evidence. These included Cherry, Plum and Peach. During the winter deciduous treed dropped their foliage. This destroyed the garden perspective and added more sorrow to the already chilly atmosphere. Because of this seven evergreens were planted to three deciduous trees. Natural planting, law of separation, point raising and point lowering is next. Law of separation is used in Japanese garden construction. This rule says that planting much be placed in normal positions as it would be found in nature.
