Our main issue with the changes to the AC10 interface is the mouse over event bringing the item to the front.
We realize that this is probably required because of the tool tips, but maybe on items not requiring 818l115i tool tips the items could remain hidden.
We quite often will place an image over a check box to create the look of a button or a tab page.
Even with the new buttons it would be nice to be able to place an image on to top to create an icon button or the look of tab pages.
Using the new buttons as tab pages would be great but we have no way to highlight the currently selected page, even if we could change the font of the button that would help, and alignment.
Having the alignment as part of UI_STYLE would be a lot more useful.
We could use the radio buttons but we use a vertical menu so that we can have the items wide enough to display the text for the page. So having the radio buttons being able to be vertical would help.
Also with the radio buttons generally we want the button to be only slightly large than the image, but as the display of which item is selected is done by the shading of the button with the image taking up the whole button it is impossible to tell which item is selected. I am assuming transparency will also be available for these, but the structure does not seam to imply this.
Trying to determine which radio item is selected is difficult even when the image does not cover the whole of the button, the taskbar on windows XP actually uses the change of shading only with mouse over and shades the currently selected item a dark grey, similar to Mac buttons, maybe this would be a better approach.
The popup menu control and popup icon radio control are both excellent, and will come in very handy.
