ANIMATION SPEED CONTROLS

ANIMATION SPEED CONTROLS

The Animated Chalkboard animations run a video speed test at the start of each animation (the title placard sequence). This is used to adjust the animation speed. However, if the comp 11211h74l uter is running intensive operations in the background, this test can incorrectly report the true speed of the machine. I've got this problem with one of our classroom machines that must be run connected to the campus network. The result, in this case, is that the animations run too fast as the software is adjusting for what it believes to be a much slower machine.

This set of individual animations adds a speed adjust control-just to those animations that use techniques effected by misreading the actual speed of the computer. You should run the animation on the machine to see if the animations perform correctly. In most cases they should. However, if the speed seems too fast or too slow, you can try using the adjustments now provided. The control appears on the TEXT screen at the beginning of the animation. Click on the SPEED button and then you can choose to speed up or slow down the animations.

Caution: Trying to speed up animations on an intrinsically slow machine may produce extremely choppy animations, and may, in some cases, cause garbled graphics to appear. The provided controls will prove most effective in slowing down animations that are too fast.
