Configure IP Address Assigned to Web Sites

You can configure your Web site to use a unique IP address that uniquely identifies the Web site.

Requirements

·   &nbs 21121r178v p;   &nbs 21121r178v p; Credentials: Membership in the Administrators group on the local computer.

·   &nbs 21121r178v p;   &nbs 21121r178v p; Tools Iis.msc.

Recommendation

As a security best practice, log on to your computer using an account that is not in the Administrators group, and then use the Run as command to run IIS Manager as an administrator. At the command prompt, type runas /user:administrative_accountname "mmc %systemroot%\system32\inetsrv\iis.msc".

To configure the IP address assigned to a Web site

1.   &nbs 21121r178v p;   In IIS Manager, expand the local computer, right-click the Web site you want to configure, and then click Properties.

   &nbs 21121r178v p;   &nbs 21121r178v p;    Click the Web Site tab, and then click the drop-down arrow next to IP Address.

   &nbs 21121r178v p;   &nbs 21121r178v p;    Click the IP address you want to use from the drop-down list of IP addresses, and then click OK.
