Software Requirements

Microsoft WindowsXPSP2, Server2003, or Windows2000.

This is a DirectX 9 driver, as indicated by the DX driver prefix version (6.14.10.xxxx).

Resolutions Supported

In general, the driver supports all modes supported by the video BIOS, then prunes out those modes that cannot be supported due to customer request, bandwidth limitations, etc.

The following list contains the modes with available refresh rates that the driver permits although possibly with restrictions (e.g. mode permitted only if pane 19419f54t l size matches this resolution).

Bpp for all modes:

The bpp support for all modes are 8bit, 16bit and 32bit.

Although normal 8bpp modes are supported, but 8bpp rotation modes are blocked for hardware limitation.

HDTV modes:

All  HDTV modes are available only when HDTV is activated

CRT+TV SAMM: Play video file/DVD title with MediaPlayer10/ PowerDVD6.00.2003e/ WinDVD5.0B11843-OEM at CRT display 1024x768x16@85Hz, the bottom of CRT display has flickered.

LCD only: Play video file (ex: Horse2) with MediaPlayer10(enable expansion and resolution set to panel size), video image be cut at bottom.(VBIOS 08+Driver 05/VBIOS 09+Driver 03 Pass, VBIOS 09+Driver 05 Fail )

CRT Only: Adapter String shows "VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP" at Display Properties\Settings\Advanced\Adapter.

With "expand device image" function checked, if you go run 3DMark2001 the screen would be centralized when enters the second test.

If you change the resolution between 1024 * 768 and 1280 * 800 for several times, the "expand device image" function would be disabled.

LCD only: media player can't play video when color set to be 16 bit

LCD only: set the resolution below 1280 * 800 (like 1024 * 768, 800 * 600) would cause the left and right side of the screen to be opposite, when Expand device image function unchecked.

LCD only:  set resolution to be 640 * 480 would make the left and right side of the screen to be opposite, when expand device image function checked.

Hibernation logo would be centralized, customer would like to have it expanded!

Playing video file under resolution 1024 * 768, 800 * 600, 640 * 480, the image would have certain offset from it's original location

The video image would always on top when drag the display property window to overlap the windows media player.

TV only, LCD/DVI/CRT+TV DuoView/SAMM: EntryACPI S1/S3/S4 from start menu, the system can't resume from ACPI S1/S3/S4.

CRT/DVI only: Resume from ACPI S1/S3/S4 then change combination device to TV only, LCD/DVI/CRT+TV DuoView, caused system hang.

DVI/CRT+TV DuoView: Run Speedy caused system blue screen "STOP: 0X0000008E(0xC000008E,0XBFOC7078,0XA93EF368,0X00000000) S3gcil_inv.dll-Address BFOC7078 base at BFOC6000,DateStemp 439503b1".

CRT/TV only: Restart system, entry OS then change combination device, caused system hang. (ex. CRT only->DVI only, CRT only->TV only)

Game (Advent Rising): When play game, the texture is error. (The texture of ground will shake or vanish.)

CRT only: Run Final FantasyXI Benchmark texture error. (Mountain discolor).

All SAMM: Play videos with mediaplayer10/PowerDVD6.00.1102 /WinDVD5.0B.11775-OEM will no image. (Set overlay at secondary display before enable SAMM)

All SAMM: Play videos with mediaplayer10/ PowerDVD6.00.1102/ WinDVD5.0B.11775-OEM then move to secondary, the video window will no image. (Set overlay at primary display before enable SAMM)

CRT+TV SAMM: Play WMV file (Coral_Reef_Adventure_720.wmv) + DOSloop + OPENGL sample at CRT display 1024x768x32@75 and TV display 1024x768x32, the video window occur noise/flicker.

CRT only: Run Far Cry benchmark, there are many blue garbage.

CRT only: Run Halo timedemo:At 'the silent Cartpgrapher" scene, the texture of the ground flicker when spacecraft is landing.

CRT only: Run 3DWB2000\3DWinMark/7/Islands, the sky has texture error.

TV Only: Can¡¦t detect TV as "Generic Television" at Display Properties\Setting\Advance\Monitor page and Device Manager\Monitor.

CRT only: Many textures(ex: floor,building,car) display error while run ViewPerf8.01/3DSMAX-03, Maya-01, Proe-03.

CRT Only: Install PowerDVD6.00.1102 then play DVD title with MediaPlayer10, the image shift or scramble after resize video window.

CRT Ony: The display show error message:"Viewperf.exe has encountered a problem" while run ViewPerf8.01/ugs-04..

HDTV only: Cannot play DVD title (ex: MAX KEEBLE'S BIG MOVE) which support Macrovision with WinDVD5.0B.11843-OEM/PowerDVD6.00.1102.

DVI+HDTV DuoView: Play video file with MediaPlayer10, the image crush and the overlay is always on DVI.

LCD+HDTV DuoView: Play video file with MediaPlayer10 at HDTV then change video window to full screen, the overlay will display at LCD.

TV only: Enable Aspect ratio lock of TV adjustment page caused system blue screen.

CRT Only: Play video with MediaPlayer10 and then Play DVD title with PowerDVD6.00.1102/WinDVD5.0B.11843-OEM, DVD image is scramble or has garbage.

CRT Only: Run D3D sample(ex: Billboard) then run OpenGL sample(ex: Atlantis), the system display blue screen.

DVI+CRT/TV, CRT+TV SAMM: Run openGL sample(ex:Atlantis) at secondary display, the openGL image display at primary display.
