TouchLite Setup for Vib Net Operations
Copy contents of the \VibNet\ATA Flash directory on the R&D server to the 8MB flash disk for the Vib Net unit
Install the flash disk in either of the PCMCIA slots on the TouchLite
Attach a multi-port adapter 151k1010b to the TouchLite and connect a keyboard
Apply power to the computer and wait for the Windows CE operating system to load
***NOTE*** due to the fact that the display for these computers is only ¼ size it will be necessary to shift many of the dialog boxes around in the following steps to gain access to the required entries and buttons. This is best accomplished by using a stylus of some kind that will not damage the screen. The eraser end of a pencil works very well for this purpose. The dialog boxes may be moved by applying a single click to the title bar and holding while dragging in the desired direction
Click the Windows "Start" button
Select "Settings" -> "Control Panel"
Double click on the "Network" icon
Verify that the AMD Lance Ethernet Driver is selected and click on "Properties"
Click on the "specify IP address" radio button
Enter the IP address: 1.1.1.0
Enter the Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Verify no entry for Default Gateway
Click OK
A dialog box will be displayed stating "If this adapter is a PC card."
Click OK
Finally, click OK to exit the "Network Settings" dialog
Double click on the "Display" icon
With the "Background" tab selected verify that the selected image is "None"
Click on the "Appearance" tab
Select the "High Contrast White" scheme
Click "apply"
Click OK
Double click on the "CPU Speed" icon
Enter Line settings: (MHZ) 100 ITM 0
Enter Batt. Settings; (MHZ) 100 ITM 0
Click OK
Exit the Control Panel
Click the Windows "Start" button
Select "Programs" -> "Save Registry"
Click OK when the registry save completes
Start Windows Explorer
Copy the file FfpToRam.txt from the Storage Card to \temp
Copy the file VibNet.lnk from the Storage Card to \temp
Click the Windows "Start" button
Select "Programs" -> "Command Prompt"
With the keyboard enter the following: filecpy -b \temp\FfpToRam.txt FfpToRam.txt
With the keyboard enter the following: filecpy -b \temp\VibNet.lnk VibNet.lnk
With the keyboard enter filecpy -a to verify that the above files have been properly copied to the flash memory of the computer
Re-boot the computer by cycling the power and the Vib Net program should start automatically
Turn power off and move the ATA Flash disk to the other PCMCIA slot
Turn power on and the Vib Net program should start from this slot as well
***NOTE*** the Vib Net program is run from the ATA flash card rather than the internal flash memory of the computer to make it easier to send updates to customers which means that a flash card containing the software must be present before booting the computer
