Shopping and shops
Most of the people do shopping because they have to. They have to buy food, clothes, sometimes equipment( vybavení), or they just want to have anything new. Some people, especially women an girls love shopping. It ´s necessary( nezbytný, nutný) for them to go through( skrz) shop and look what nice they have and what is cheaper( levnějsí) and what is more expensive. It ´s 252d35c usually a disaster( pohroma) for men.
Differents kind of shops:
Hypermarkets and supermarkets: we didn ´t have these shops before revolution. Its belong to foreign companies. They built in the suburbs( předměstí) of big cities where is specially public( veřejný) transport terminates( končící), there are some large area for parking cars. When I go there I usually buy some cartons of lasting( trvanlivý) milk or water, cartons of juice, a lot of fruits and vegetables, goods from chemist, meat.I have must have trolley( vozík). You have to put some coins( mince) in and you push in front( před, v předu) of you. You may pay by cash or credit cards.
Department store: it´s more comfortable, you can buy everything there - food, equipment for house, cloths, shoes and many more. It´s dangerous for small children, because they can get lost. The prices are little bit higher. DS are in inner( vnitřní) cities. There is several floors with all goods, DS for examle: Kotva, Bílá Labuť, Tesco
Corner shops: typical is the grocer´s( potraviny), many people go there every day. They buy some basic foos as bread, rolls, milk, jam, biscuits, eggs, sugar..Another common( bezný) shops is the chemist´s. You can buy there toothpaste, soap, cosmetics, combs( hřebeny), razor blades( ziletky)
The greengrocer´s: specializes in fruit and vegetables( cauliflower - květák, cabbage - zelí, garlic, onion, maize - kukuřice, carrots, peppers - papriky, pea - hrách, radish - ředkvičky, peach, apricot...)
The butcher - specializes in meat, white meat( poultry - drůbez, chicken, turkey, rabbit, goose- husa), fish( carp - kapr, tuna - tuňák, trout - pstruh, ell - úhoř, oyster - ústřice, lobster - humr, octopus - chobotnice) red meat - veal( telecí), pork, mutton - skopové, beef - hovězí, lamb - jehněčí
The baker: specializes in a bread, rolls, cakes, pineapple cakes, donuts, apple pie
Boutiques: you can buy cloths and shoes, some different boutiques, the prices are very high( luxury cloths, different marks) - Mark and Spencer, Benetton, Dior, Versace
Perfumes: frech parfumes
Duty free shops( bezcelní obchody) - it is much more cheaper, it´s without any taxes
When we are member of European Community all supermarkes won´t be allowed to open 24 hours a day.
