Confirm your decision and dates with your local conference administration.
Recruit your team members.
Develop a preliminary budget and identify the initial cost per person amount.
Begin fundraising for your team members (airfare, food, lodging).
Start to develop group identity and cohesiveness.
3 months before your short-term mission trip
Insure that all participants have applied for and received their passports.
Check with The Quiet Hour regarding visas.
Make and finalize travel arrangements.
Find out about and/or arrange for housing, transportation, food, meetings, etc.
Fine-tune your budget.
Begin pre-trip sessions.
Airmail handbills, sermon topics, pictures, etc. to overseas mission.
2 months before your short-term mission trip
Make sure all participants have their immunizations up to date.
Double check travel arrangements.
Continue pre-trip sessions.
Love offering for meetings should be carried with you in new hundred dollar bills, but in some cases a portion may need to be sent through church channels two months in advance.
1 month before your short-term mission trip
Send your travel itinerary to The Quiet Hour.
Verify that travel documents (passports/visas) have been obtained by all team members.
Clearly identify luggage limits for team members.
Conduct send-off service with your church.
During your short-term mission trip
Work with your team to accomplish goals in the soul-winning evangelistic series.
Remind the members of your team of the culture/customs of your host country.
Make sure proper steps are being taken to report your experience.
After your short-term mission trip
Report your experience to The Quiet Hour and to your church.
Complete and mail the Evangelism Report form to The Quiet Hour.
Send stories and pictures to The Quiet Hour for publication.
