This is a complicated level, worthy of having a help file created
just for it, so here it is. You must read ALL of it to win this
level
Menu:
The Lunar Research Station is divided into 4 sectors.
Beta, Delta and Theta Sectors are all underground.
*Alpha Sector is the ground level. It is NOT visited in the
mission since Kerrigan destroyed it.
*Beta Sector is the largest sector where most people
are in the station. It is shaped like a ring
around the Delta Sector. Scientists do most of
their research here. There is a vent system
which can be used to get around this area
quickly. Some doors are automatic and some
are computer activated from a computer in
a different room. If you encounter a door
that does not open when you walk near it
then it is computer activated.
*Delta Sector is shaped like a ring around the Theta
Sector. It is made up of several rooms where scientists would do their practical tests. When Duran arrived this Sector became overrun with Zerg. There is one room (which starts locked), which can access the Theta Sector.
*Theta Sector is very small. It is where the highest-level scientists would do their most special projects. During this 'incident' the scientists were studying the Zerg in this Sector. Their prize was Kerrigan whom they kept in the special chamber from which she could not escape. When Duran temporarily cut the power, Kerrigan's minions escaped from this Sector and killed all the scientists on the way out. However, she was still unable to escape from her cell.
Kerrigan's Arrival
Kerrigan attacked from the surface of the moon and completely
destroyed the Alpha Sector of the base. For a day or so
fighting took place in the corridors of Beta Sector. With
reinforcements from Earth and such places, they forced
Kerrigan into Delta and Theta Sectors completely clearing
Beta Sector. Then they forced the Zerg into the Theta Sector
only where scientists began studying them and Kerrigan was
their main project.
Duran cut power to the station for a short time to gain entry
to the Beta Sector. In doing so, he let loose all of Kerrigan's
minions out of the Theta Sector into the Delta Sector, killing
all the scientists. Unfortunately for her, Kerrigan was left
trapped in her personal cell.
Duran is carrying a Terran motion tracker. Your minimap will ping when there is movement near Duran. The more movement there is the faster and louder it will ping. It can be used to let you know where enemies are that you can't see. It has more range than Duran's sight range.
Doors
Some of the doors are automatic, which open whenever any unit from any team comes near them. Other doors are opened by computers in different rooms. The Beta Sector is actually divided into 4 separate areas. There is a door in each section of the Beta Sector, which is to be opened by a computer in another section of the Beta Sector. Read that again if you didn't get it.
You cannot get to the different sections of the Beta Sector by
doors or corridors, only by using the ventilation system.
The ventilation system in the Beta Sector allows your units to
get between the 4 different areas of the Beta Sector. It is
vital that you understand the difference between:
-Sections of the Beta Sector
AND
-Sectors(i.e. Beta, Delta, Theta)
The vents only allow movement within the Beta Sector, but they are the only way to get between the different sections of it.
Reinforcements of yours will appear, but will be extremely rare. Reinforcements of Kerrigan's will continually pour into the Delta Sector (they are coming out of their cells, which you can't get to). Reinforcements of the marines will continually pour into the Beta Sector and try to hunt you down. If you make it to the Delta Sector, however, they can't follow you in. Also, a squad of elite ghosts (yes elite ghosts, meaning better than normal ghosts) will find you and attempt to assassinate you, as ghosts generally do.
Healer
There is a healer somewhere in the Beta Sector, which fully heals all units near it. It can be used limitless times but only once per minute.
