Affirmative : S + V₁ + s III pr. sg.

e.g I play basketball every week.

Interrogative : Do/Does + S + V₁

e.g Do you usually go to the church ?

Negative : S + do/does + not + V₁

e.g I don’t want to go there .

It is used to express :

• An action that takes place every day , every week , every month , every year , usually .

e.g I go to school every day .

• A future action as part of an official program

e.g The train to Bucharest leaves at 8 tomorrow.

• General truths

e.g Water boils at 100 ⁰C.

The Earth is round.

• Permanent activities

e.g.: He is a doctor, he cures sick people.

He is a teacher, he teaches pupils.
