Health Advice Notification - International Travellers

Acute Respiratory Syndrome in Vietnam and Southern China

Pre Travel:

Any employee intending to travel to these areas, in the near future, are strongly advised to contact a doctor at Rood Lane Medical Group prior to travel who can discuss your individual itinerary and any concerns.

Post Travel:

Any employees having recently travelled to these areas are advised to contact Rood Lane Medical Group if they experience any of the following symptoms:

Sudden onset of high fever (over 38 degrees centigrade)

Myalgia (painful muscles)

One or more respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing

COMBINED WITH one or more of the following

• History of travel to mainland China, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, or Hanoi within two weeks of symptom onset.

• History of having cared for, having lived with, having had face-to-face contact with, or having had contact with respiratory secretions of, a probable case.
