EQUIPMENT TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

INSTRUCTION

This Manual, contains descriptive information, testing and installation instructions, operations, troubleshooting, maintenance and part list of the NUOVO PIGNONE skid dedicated to "Hydraulic Starting System" for a Gas Turbine Model PGT25. Instructions contained in the manual cov 16316r1710q er complete disassembly and reassembly of the units. This manual should be studied in order to become familiar with proper order and parts nomenclature, before proceeding to disassemble or reassemble the unit.



DESCRIPTION

This is a DUE EMME "HYDRAULIC STARTING SKID" specifically designed for Nuovo Pignone in order to supply a variable oil flow to hydraulic starter following the Nuovo Pignone Specification SMO9906490_A_0

The skid is an assembly composed of a pump driven by electric motor V A.C., Hz, 3Ph, 4 Poles 132kW, pump model is an AVG180... The pump provides a controlled flow from 0 to 210 L/min. to move the Starting Hydraulic Motor installed on Nuovo Pignone turbine model PGT25.

The electric control of the pump shall be proportional linear 4 20 mA, with the function to determine the delivery flow variation from 0 L/min. to max value 210 L/min.

High pressure pump discharged oil flow, is filtered by a high pressure filter and then to the turbine starter only if related electrical closing valve permits it.

External make-up pump, connected by suction line and filter to reservoir balance the oil flow that derivates to the tank through the heat exchanger.

Air/Oil cooler, control valves and accessories are also installed to control the Hydraulic Fluid used.

All above parts are assembled and mounted in a steel frame that will be fixed to the floor and piping is connected with SAE Flanges. The electrical wiring to the Junction Box.

DUE EMME Assembling Drawing, contain all the parts installed on the skid.

SECTION 2      
INTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION - ASSEMBLY / DISASSEMBLY / HANDLING

OPERATIONS

This skid is a single element, as a container, and can be moved and lifted by a crane capable.

To permit the lifting, the skid is provided by for lifting (lifting hook) placed at four angles of frame.

To lift the skid it is necessary to use chains or steel ropes convergent to a central point.

DUE EMME Srl is not accountable for injuries or damages caused by unprofessional personnel or conduct.

UNPACKING AND INSPECTION

Depending of package type used for shipping, unpack the skid and check for any visible damage.

The unit should be damage and rust free. Contact the supplier if damage or rust is found or take proper action to repair.

In case of damage one is to contact the supplier: Units are completely functional when shipped by DUE EMME Srl all parts are guarantee for a period indicated in the contractual agreement

MOUNTING

Place the skid in its seat and fix to floor using tie rod through holes on base frame.

PIPING

Connect all the hydraulic lines, with proper flanges and plumbing to the served machine, Inlet line and Outlet line, according to Assembling Drawing n°

WIRING

Connect all Junction Box to Electric Control System with adequate wiring, according to Assembling Drawing n° and Junction Box Wiring Diagram SOM6670772

Connect all the Electric Motor to Electrical Starting Device at appropriate Power Supply, according to Assembling Drawing n° 018-07-001 and Junction Box Wiring Diagram SOM6670772.

RECOMMENDED FLUID

Verify that fluid type used, is that suggested by the NUOVO PIGNONE Specification SMO9906490.

FLUID CLEANLINESS

Verify the cleanliness of fluid used, to be according class 15/12 ISO4406 (NAS6)

SECTION 3      
INSTRUCTION FOR OPERATION/START-UP/STOP/LOCKOUT

START UP PROCEDURE FOR NEW MACHINE INSTALLATION

Before Starting the Electric Motor verify all the piping, connecting the skid to hydraulic motor installed on the machine, are filled with system fluid; check the Pump Inlet filled with Fluid and at absolute minimum Pressure of 0,8 bar.

Start the first Electric Motor and run it for some second just to verify turning direction; if wrong direction stop it and change electrical connection to get correct direction (Check direction on the label fixed on the motor looking the fan). For the electric motor of the air coolers is very important to respect the sense showed in the arrow, because the devices control the air flow temperature inside the skid.

Check the Outlet and Return Line Gauges for pressure: normal value should be in the 2025 bar range. Left the Electric motor to run for some minutes to permit a proper filling of internal parts of pump.

Repeat starting operations for the Electric Motors installed on the system.

Verify that suction valves, delivery ball valves and return ball valves are opened.

NECESSARY OPERATIONS OF THE MACHINE START-UP

Before starting the machine it is necessary to provide a flushing phase according to the Nuovo Pignone standard until obtaining a class 15/12 contamination level according to norm ISO4406.
