The success-recipe of the next HIM-Krachers is expounded quickly:

On the other hand one only notices under extreme conditions, as they are usual during a tour, whether a band works right or not. We were faced suddenly with the problem, that to must replace Drummer and the Keyboarder, according to Ville retrospective.

The problem was solved however quickly. Busy Juska, a musician stepped until now hardly in appearance, the vacant station of the Keyboarders, so wedged itself with gas Lipstick (ex-Kyyria) a real Haudegen of the Helsinki-scene behind the Drums and provided for the necessary Drive from now at. The again found stability in the Line-up was jointly responsible for it that HIMS with almost each of her/its/their concerts integrated some new songs into the set in order to sound out first public-reactions.
Ville: " While we toured in Germany, we had already worked since one year on the material for our second album-there offered it to itself, that to test Tracks live. What sounds in the studio well, must work " under live-conditions by no means.

In the last spring, the quintet went to lifting the second album then. One fell back like with the debut on the services of producer Hiili and accepted the disk into the Finnvox studios in the native Helsinki. Some months later one announced the surprised press then that one wants to play in the disk completely again. A decision, that Ville today-with the necessary space - as follows explains:
" We had the feeling to have not gotten out the optimum with wide. Maybe it was because of us, because we had subjected the songs steady changes and slow, but sure, her/its/their original charm blurs. Maybe, it was however also because of the season, into which we had accepted the disk. The winter is simply too depressing in Finland, as that one can escape his/its strength. I believe, therefore the songs sounded in her/its/their Endversionen too depressive, too escalating...."
Some months later, HIMS hid in the studio again. This time in the Rockhouse-Studios in Wales and under the instruction of sound-fiddler John Fryer (NIN, White zombie, Depeche fashion) that procured the quintet an additional Push.
Ville is the first, that admits willingly, that Fryer of the band gave additional self-confidence and managed it so completely on the side, to tighten the arrangements: " John has opened the eyes for us, because he/it has approached completely freely at our material and has had no expectation-stand. He/it has concentrated on fully bringing our strengths to carrying and has given us valuable tips. The type is an absolute full-pro ".

HIM-Fanses could make a first impression of the collaboration with John Fryer for itself with the first Singleauskopplung " Join Me ". For the sound track of the current Roland Emmerich film " The 13th Floor " just contributed this number one and turned off one film-sequences containing video-clip. If the song already turned out after few runs as small Gothic-Rock-Oper with enormous Hitpotential, so the video-clip, in which Ville carried out the visual change to a modern version of the art-figure of Ziggy Stardust seemingly easily, provided more sensation.

The ground for the publication of " Razorblade Romance " is therefore perfectly made ready, especially since clearly grown itself the band the class of the debut-work of toppen kann.Zwar shows and has itself the success-concept, the combination from hard guitars and melancholy melodies, only about nuances altered, but the band approach her/its/their vision of " Goth'n Roll " amazingly come.
