After 15 years exile in the West, Phoenix has made its comeback in Romania - and what a comeback! Just as in the years before the band's departure, the stadiums are again full of young peple, clapping and singing along with the songs, which gave them such encouragement in hard times and hope for the future.
Phoenix founded in Timisoara in 1962, continued to perform even after their music was banned in 1974, up till their fligt to the West in 1977.Since then the band has brought enjoyment to a newaudience with the original, intense and emotionally charged songs.
This recording dedicated to the town of Timisoara, where the flame of freedom arose out of the ashes left after the bands departure, the town where the revolution began which led to the downfall of Ceausescu, is desire to build a bridge between the music of the band's fifteen years in Romania and the music produced in the next fifteen in the West.
Retaining a strong folkloric inspiration, the band attains a complete synthesis of rock, folk and classical music.
We recomanded a good pair of headphones.Enjoy!
