How to Develop Psychic Abilities
The Birthright
If you have run across my other postings, then you know that I am quite rational, & have been into this stuff for a very, very long time. Seeing auras, psychometry, & astral projection, etc. are normal features of my life. I really take it for granted, but I've gotten used to the fact that most people haven't learned how to do it yet. Insight, wisdom, & all the psychic powers are your birthright, & if you don't seem to have enough of them, then please go out & get them!! To help you along I am providing here, a set of exercises which will do exactly that.
Exercise One
Psychic powers cannot manifest without good integration of the right & left brain lobes. Here is the exercise: Focus your consciousness in the center of your head between the ears. This is the location of the pineal gland at the top of the thalamus, the root of the brain stem. Now move your consciousness into the right lobe of the brain on an inhale of breath. Next, on the exhale of breath, move your consciousness into the left lobe of the brain. Repeat this over & over for 5 minutes. You may use any reasonable posture that you wish : Lotus, or lying on your back with a pillow under your knees, or sitting in a comfy chair, or during a walk through the woods (best). You may use Mantra, but I recommend that you sound the Mantra in your mind, not in your voice for this exercise. Inhale "Yin" on the right, & exhale "Yang" on the left. I'm sure you know that you should not over-do physical exercise, because that can over-stress your body. This is a mental exercise, & you most definitely do not want to over-do IT. So, please, just 11311e45l 5 minutes a day, & no more.
Exercise Two
Find a comfortable posture, like lying on your back with pillows propped under your knees. Focus your consciousness in the pineal gland. Now move it forward to the pituitary gland above & between the eyes. Inhale on the pineal, & exhale on the pituitary. You may use an internal (non-vocalized) mantra with this exercise, like Aum: Pineal(Om); pituitary (um). Do this for only five minutes a day. Do not use Exercise One on the same day.
Back in '73 I did this exercise while hooked up to an EEG at the Univ. of Mass. at Columbia Point. I generated two brainwave patterns that were unknown at the time. The first had the amplitude of alpha, but the frequency of beta, & seemed to emanate from the cerebellum at the back of the brain. The second was a one second delta pulse from the pineal to the pituitary that was so powerful that it pinned the meter! It was estimated that I was consciously using 1/3 of my brain capacity with the first brain wave. The second could not be calculated. Normally people only use 10%.
Exercise Three
Here is another 5 minute exercise you can use on days when you haven't used any of the others. Use your regular comfortable posture. The internal (non-vocalized) mantra for this exercise is "Yod He Vau He". Focus your consciousness in the cerebellum at the back of your brain, inhale slowly, & mentally sound "Yod". Next, move your concentration to the pineal gland, & mentally sound "He" as you exhale. Now go into the pituitary as you inhale, sounding internally "Vau". Finally, you will mentally sound "He" as you refocus in the pineal on the exhale. Repeat this for five minutes, & stop.
The best way to learn about psychic powers, is to experience them for yourself. These exercises will gradually sensitize you to the Astral, Mental, & Spiritual planes of reality. Use only one a day for 5 minutes. More than this will open you up faster than you will be able to adjust to. Being moderate, & maintaining a balanced state of mind are essential, when you embark on this kind of work.
Conscious Dreaming 101
If you have been using these exercises for about a month, then this experiment should be pretty easy. When you are asleep, try to take control of your dream. At first, you may try too hard & wake up. Go back to sleep & try again. To begin with, just steer the dream in minor ways, & with practice work up towards complete control. If you don't like the way in which a dream is progressing, steer it in a different direction: if a dream is getting dark, go towards some light; if you are being dragged down, find stairs that go up. When you get good at this, you can set yourself tasks to do while you are sleeping.
Meditation 101
Volumes have been written on the benefits of meditation. Here is the simplest & most effective method I have found. It was taught by Ramana Maharshi. Sit in a comfortable posture (either a Yoga posture or in a chair with your legs out, & your hands draped near your knees) with your eyes open. Now focus your consciousness on your consciousness. That's it. That's all there is to it. Ignore what you see & hear around you; focus your consciousness on that part of you which is aware, & not upon the objects of your awareness. Words & thoughts will stream through your mind; ignore them: focus your consciousness on your consciousness. Images & even emotions will come to distract you; pay them no heed : remain calm & concentrate on only one thing, your consciousness itself. When you are meditating, do not become distracted by external or internal phenomena. It is so simple, & yet it is quite hard.
Conscious Dreaming 102
After you have been using the exercises for about two months, or have learned how to steer your dreams, you should be ready to put this to a practical use: setting yourself tasks to do while you are asleep. We all have projects we are working on or situations we are dealing with. Pick one that is either most dear to you or the most vexing. Now just before you go to sleep, think about the one you have chosen for a minute, & then put it out of your mind, & go to sleep. You may or may not remember dreaming about it when you get up, but ideas & insights will come, that will enable you greatly in whatever you have chosen to deal with. Now isn't that nice? You just got some work done while you were asleep. And you thought all of this metaphysical stuff had no practical value! *lol*
Sensitivity Training 101
After you have used the exercises for about three months, & have been meditating regularly, & have learned to use conscious dreaming to do tasks at night, you should be more than ready for this next step. Go outside to a place where you will be alone, & not be bothered by people. Find a pretty spot, & lean up against a big beautiful tree. Now use the concentration you have developed from meditation to feel the life in the tree. Let yourself experience what the tree is experiencing. Listen externally to what is happening around you. Listen internally to what the tree will tell you. The tree will not be speaking in English, but it will direct your attention towards things that interest it. You will learn many things in this way that words cannot express.
Sensitivity Training 102
After you have had success with Sensitivity Training 101, you may try something a bit harder: inanimate objects. In a quiet place hold somebody else's ring or keys or some other small object in your hands. Immerse yourself in it, as you have learned to do with a tree, & let the images come. Events that occurred around the object personal to the owner should come into your mind. With practice you will become an expert in psychometry. This can be used as a parlor trick, if you must, but I find it of greater value when I want to know what somebody I am dealing with is really like....
Conscious Dreaming 103
After four months using the exercises & meditation, & some success with Sensitivity Training 102, you should be ready for the next step in Conscious Dreaming. Plan, before you go to sleep, to visit a quiet & beautiful place, like where your tree is, for instance. When you get there, float to a comfortable spot either on the ground or near it. Now practice meditation or one of the exercises, if you prefer. Up until now, you have been practicing the exercises & meditation on the physical plane to increase coordination between your conscious & subconscious minds, & to make yourself more sensitive to the Astral, Mental, & Spiritual planes of reality. Now you will be on the Astral plane doing the meditation or one of the exercises, to further increase your sensitivity to the Mental & Spiritual planes, & to increase the coordination between your mind & your spirit.
Conscious Dreaming 104
After five months using the exercises & meditation, and some success with Conscious Dreaming 103, you are in for a little treat. There is a wonderful place just above the Astral plane, I call the Great Library. It contains the records of everything that has ever happened, & much, much more. There are Librarian Guides there who will be happy to assist you in learning anything you might want to know about, & meeting places where people like us (or nicer) gather to confer, & listen to Enlightened Beings who teach what cannot be expressed in words. You are hereby invited to join in. While you are asleep, go to your special place to meditate. After a period of meditation, think of this Great Library, & ease yourself up into this higher vibration. Realize that all of the phenomena you see here are merely symbols for your mind to hold onto as a reference. Now be as receptive as you were to your tree to the principles that the symbols you see represent. Welcome. You are here!
Please Take Note
Up until now, I have been posting preliminary exercises, with the view to lead you to Astral Projection to the Great Library just above the Astral Plane on the Plane of the Divine Mind. That was the prelininary work. Please do not attempt to use any of the following exercises or techniques or experiments before you have learned to make contact with the Great Library & the Enlightened Guides you will encounter there. I now freely admit that I have been speaking symbolicly, yet I have not mislead you in anyway. You will get results from the preliminary exercises, just as I have promised. But to continue further (& to understand what I am actually talking about), you must make that contact. There are many things that simply cannot be explained in words to the uninitiated. So until you actually make that connection, please, simply procede with the meditation, & the basic exercises. OK? Thanx!
The Shield
There are people out there who either consciously or unconsciously practice the Black Arts. To protect yourself, & to reflect back the bad vibes, use this technique. Visualize a right rectangular prism around you. Bend the centers of the faces inward, so that you have 6 parabolic mirrors. Now raise your vibrations to the level of Spiritual Love. Relax, & forget about it. It is taken care of.....
Exercise 4
After 6 months with the exercises & meditation, & after you have learned how to visit the Great Library, you will be ready for this exercise. This one is long & complicated, and should only be done about once a month....say like on the full moon. It opens 10 energy centers through the body, & not the traditional seven. The internal mantra for this exercise comes in two parts: one for the inhalation, & one for the exhalation. The mantra is "Aum Mani Padme Huum, Aum Tat Sat Aum". Mentally sound this mantra four times at each energy center. The first energy center is the cerebellum at the back of the head. The second is at the pineal gland in the center of the head between the ears. The third is the pituitary gland just above & between the eyes. The fourth is the thalamus just below the pineal gland, & here you may choose to curl your tongue backward to touch the roof of your mouth. The fifth is at the center of the throat at the thyroid gland. The sixth is in the center of the upper chest at the thymus gland. The seventh is the solar plexus. The eight is the navel, & here you may visualize a spiral of of golden light entering & exiting your body along with the mantra. The ninth is just inside the front of the scrotum (Gee, I think you can find this spot!). The tenth is the anal sphincter.
After a few minutes of meditation to attain calm & clarity, expand & contract your whole aura with the mantra four times. Now, begin with the first energy center, & gradually bring the energy down to the tenth in sequence. Then expand & contract your whole aura with the mantra four times. Now slowly bring the energy back up, beginning with the tenth, & working up through all of the others, until you get to the first. Finally expand & contract your whole aura four more times with the mantra. Rest. You are done.
Absolutely, please, do not attempt to use this exercise before you have learned how to make contact with the Great Library, & only use it once a month. Peace be with you.
The Pearl
Visualize a light of pearl at the pineal gland. Slowly expand it to fill your head, then contract it back to the pineal. Now slowly expand it to fill your whole aura, & contract it back to the pineal. If at any point, you feel a resistance or if you see any darkness, then concentrate the light of the pearl on that spot until the darkness or the resistance goes away. Repeat the exercise until you can do it without needing to concentrate the light of the pearl on anything. Use once a week.
The Subtle Embrace
This White Tantric exercise forms a telepathic link. When neither of you are facing any adversity, sit as close to your significant other as possible, without actually making physical contact. You may choose to copy or you may choose to mirror each other's posture. Get detailed about this: exactly match or mirror posture, arm, leg, feet, hand, & finger positions. Now match breathing...slow, but naturally. After about 33 minutes, the link should form, if you have been doing the exercises, & have made contact with the Great Library. ENJOY being together!
