ELOG 1.42 Release Notes
Elog is an electronic record of the historical problem sets experienced and service actions performed on any given serviceable entity (i.e., machine). This log data is stored o 24524t1912y n one or more Machine Resident Diskettes (MRDs) at the customer site. All captured data is Xerox proprietary information and is, therefore, only viewable by Xerox Personnel via the Elog application.
No new functionality has been added this release.
Fixed installation to correctly modify the dBase ISAM section of the odbcisam.ini file.
No new functionality has been added to this release.
Elog now comes to the foreground when exiting. In specific, if another application asks Elog to shutdown, Elog comes to the foreground as do all messages that Elog raises.
Balloon help works correctly. It was possible to move the mouse over the toolbar buttons and the balloon help would cause an error resulting in an illegal exception.
Support for 5890
Support for 5895
The XRXFile.DLL is fixed. It was possible to create conditions where the dll would incorrectly encrypt and decrypt files. Notably after creating exactly 3 logs for the 5800 product then exiting the application. Also, XRXFile.dll was re-compiled without debugging information making it considerably smaller.
During the initial testing of Elog 1.41, problems were discovered that were not able to be resolved in this build but will be addressed in subsequent builds. The following list describes the most significant issues:
When Elog Is Being Shutdown Via Session Manager It Is Coming To The Foreground But Not Being Set To Focus
When Session Manager is shutting down Elog, the Elog application is coming to the foreground but not being set to focus. If the user hits the enter key to respond the the Elog dialog box it will launch whatever application has the focus. The user must use the mouse the respond to the Elog dialog box and not the enter key.
