How to Convert DiVX into VCDs
1. VirtualDub (Seperating the sound from the Divx)
Run VirtualDub, and open the Divx movie you are going to convert into a VCD. You need to get a sperate audio WAV file from that. Click the 'File' menu item, and then click on 'Save WAV'. Chose a place where you can save it.
2. Sound Forge (Converting the WAV into Linear PCM Data)
Install Sound Forge (its a Radium release, so it should be pre-cracked). Once thats done, eun Sound Forge. Open the WAV file you created and wait for it to load. The, click on 'File' and then click on 'Save As'. Pick a name for your file, then go down to 'Format' change it fro 16116v2118q m MPEG - Layer 3 to PCM. Make sure the attributes are at 44kHz and 16-Bit Stereo. The click on 'Save'. This takes some time, so be patient.
3. Xing MPEG Encoder (Creating a MPG file out of the DiVX and the WAV)
Install Xing MPEG Encoder (I recommend using the rar named 'XingMPEG Ecoder.RAR') and also. The instructions on how to crack Xing MPEG Encoder is in the rar. You do not need to crack the player, but it is the same way as the Encoder. Once installed (may need a reboot), Run it. Click on 'File' and then on 'Stream Profiles'. Then in the "Stream Profiles' list section, expand the 'VideoCD' roll out, and click on 'NTSC' then click on the 'Edit' button below it. Click yes to the dialog that pops up and then the 'Edit Stream Profiles Properties' window should open up. Name it what you want. Under the 'System Format' section change the 'Data Rate' to 2800.00. Next under the 'Video Format' section change the 'Data Rate' to 2500.00. Then click on 'OK'. A dialog will pop up saying that using this configuration will create a unconstrainded video stream. (who cares =D) Click ok to that and then click on on 'OK' on the 'Manage Stream Profiles' window.
Now click on 'New' then select the new stream profile you have created, and then on 'Next'. In the 'Job Wizard' window, the Stream Type should be set to System. For the video source, select the DiVX movie your converting. For the audio source select the WAV file you have created/modified in Sound Forge. then choose a place to save the MPG to. This file may exceed 1GB. This process takes about 3 hours for a 1 Hour DiVX of good quality and high resolution.
4. FlaskMPEG (Creating a VCD compliant MPEG)
Now that, thats done we can get started on the next long process. Making it DVD player readable. Install Panasonic MPEG Encoder using the serial and password in the text file in that directory. Now run Flask, and open the MPG file you created with Xing. After it loads click on 'Options' and then on 'Select Output Format' and choose 'Panasonic MPEG1'. Click on 'Options' again and this time click on 'Output Format Options'. The 'Panasonic MPEG1 Encoder Plug-in' windw should appear. No we want this to be playable in a DVD player, so we'll need to have exact settings. Under the 'Data Rate (kbits/sec)' section make the video data rate to 1150, the audio data rate to 224. The system data rate should read as 1374 now. Leave the 'Stream Format' at its default. Next under the 'MPEG1 Parameters' leave everything as they are, and go down to where it says 'Pel Aspect' make choose 'NTSC/4:3' from the list. Now go down to the 'Image FIlter' section and change the 'Color Tone Correction' to 'TV'. Click 'OK' to that window.
Now click on 'Options' once again and this time click on 'Global Project Options'. In the first tab, 'Video', in the 'Frame Size' section, change the width to 352 and the height to 288. Under the 'Time Base (fps)' section, select 29.97. These options will ensure that the movie we're making will be in NTSC format so your TV can read it. Leave the other tabs alone, fo we dont need to use them for out movie, except the 'Files' tab, we want to go here. under 'Output Video File' choose a place where you can save this file, it will be roughly 650MB in size. This will have the sound with it so don't worry. Click 'OK' to that window and now we do the fun stuff. Converting. Click on 'Run' and then on 'Start Conversion'. The Panasonic MPEG1 setting window will pop up showing you the values you picked for this operation, just click 'OK' to that and sit back and relax. This proccess can take up to 4 hours.
5. VideoCD Burning (Burning the VCD so a DVD player can read it)
You can burn this MPG you have created with any VideoCD burning software. I reccommend Easy CD Creator 4. If you use the VideoCD Creator that is in the Easy CD Creator 4 software, you may get an error saying that the System Clock referance is invalid. Don't worry about it. Add the movie anyways and burn.
After this, you have completed the objective. You may now watch your movie in the big screen. =D
