Moonlight Cordless Ltd has released XMuxer v.2.00, a program that can fix faulty MPEG2 files, that were damaged by incorrect handling and also has some other features described below.
Moonlight ][muxer
All of us always want to watch the favorite movie again & again, to stop separate frames, to slow down the show or, on the contrary, speed it up, to rewind. But the problem is that after these operations in some movies such problems appear:
Long pause before the playback, sometimes moving over to hanging-up of a system
Divergence of sound & video;
Twitching of image;
Video crushing.
The cause is that while creating the movie, video and sound are made separately from each other, and then, they are settled together, frequently in a wrong way.
In order to save you from such inconveniences Moonli 22122q1622w ght Cordless Ltd. developed a piece of software "Xmuxer".
This software forms video and audio packets in MPEG2 movies and arranges them in the right order. And, as a result, you take a chance to get rid of above-mentioned problems.
And if you want to enjoy your favorite clip, but with your friend's voice or score for sound your own video as you wish; or cut out the sound track from the movie you like, "Xmuxer" can also help you.
"Xmuxer" supports standard MPEG2 format in the mode of remultiplexing and multiplexing. It means that as a result (on output) PS (Program Stream) is always generated. In demultiplexing mode "Xmuxer" also supports standard MPEG1 movies.
"Xmuxer" also allows to remove unwanted streams from TS (Transport Stream). It means if there are several video and audio streams in a movie, having chosen one audio and one video you'll get the possibility to multiplex another movie, which will contain only chosen audio and video streams.
"Xmuxer" also supports PVA standard movies
(captured from DVB (Digital Video Broadcast) in
XMuxer is an application to provide a user with a useful and easy tool for Xmuxing (X-multiplexing) MPEG-2 standard files.
XMuxer:
Splits any MPEG file into separate audio and video streams or files,
Multiplexes audio and video,
Joins any number of MPEG files,
Cuts commercials or extracts a scene from a clip,
Removes useless information from the transport stream or ripped VOB,
Finds the lost synchronization in a corrupted MPEG-2 clip.
Converts PVA, HDTV and SDTV clips to a MPEG-2 Program stream.
List of supported formats:
.mpg, .mpeg, .trt, .ts, .vob, .mpa, .ac3, .m2v, .mv2, .pva, .mp3, .mp2, .mp1, .xpl, .hipix.
1) Remultiplexing - taking one audio and one video stream from a vob or ts (trt) file into a MPEG-2 Program stream (mpg).
2) Demultiplexing - splitting a file into its elementary audio and (or) video streams
3) Multiplexing - join a separate video stream with a separate audio resulting in a MPEG-2 Program stream.
4) Joining multiple files into one - select several files as input, or a .xpl file that contains pathnames to files to be merged. All files must be the same resolution.
5) Trim - by the "muxer options" button you can activate an option of trimming (cutting out) a scene with the initial time and duration specified.
Run XMuxer*.exe file.
Choose the catalogue for installation (it can be default).
During the installation the following actions will be performed:
- All the necessary files will be copied to the sub-catalogue chosen
The following DirectShow filters will be registered: Elecard MPEG2 Demultiplexer, Moonlight MPEG2 Multiplexer, Elecard Dump Pos.
These operations being performed the program is ready to run.
Go to the Start menu, Programs, Moonlight Cordless, Xmuxer (program group), Xmuxer (the program itself).
You see the Evaluation version dialogue.
Press the OK button and you'll see the main interface of the program (if you want to download the latest version of the program or look for some additional information press the button with our URL on it).
In the dialogue window there are 3 buttons illustrating the main functions of the program - Remuxer, Demuxer, Muxer. (Figure 1.)
Choose the function you need by pressing the button with a proper title.
Figure 1.
REMUXER
Remuxer - the function providing demultiplexing of MPEG2 (Program or Transport) stream, followed by multiplexing of one of the VES (Video Elementary Stream) and one of the AES (Audio Elementary Stream) into the standard MPEG2 movie. (Figure 2.)
Ø You see the Remuxer dialogue where you should press the Open file button and choose the file you'd like to remultiplex.
Ø To save the results of remultiplexing press Save file and enter the filename in "Save file" dialogue.
Ø Having chosen source and destination file you may press the Prepare button.
Ø If the operation succeeds you see the list of audio streams in Audio output list box and the list of video streams in Video output list box or error message box in the case of fail.
Ø Press the Start button. If everything is ok you see the process status display changing.
Ø When operation is over, the "Process complete" dialogue appears.
The results of remultiplexing you can find in the catalogue you have chosen before.
Figure 2.
DEMUXER
Demuxer-the function providing demultiplexing of MPEG2 stream into VES and AES and their saving as files. (Figure 3.)
Ø You see the Demuxer dialogue where you should press the Open file button and choose the file you'd like to demultiplex.
Ø Click the Prepare button .
Ø If everything is ok you see the list with outpins statistics where both VES and AES of the stream (MPEG2 (Transport stream, Program stream),MPEG1 (System stream) compatible) are shown or error message box in the case of fail.
Ø The program also offers you to save the results of demultiplexing. In a window with outpins statistics click the streams you'd like to save one by one, or you can do a double click to specify the catalogue where you'd like to save them.
Ø Click the Start button and the process of demultiplexing will be performed, and the streams you have chosen will be saved as files.
The results of demultiplexing you can find in the catalogue you have chosen before.
Figure 3.
Muxer - the function providing one VES and one AES multiplexing into one MPEG2 Program stream. (Figure 4)
Ø You see the Muxer dialogue where you should click Open file and choose the audio stream file you'd like to multiplex and then video stream file.
Ø Click the Save file button to choose the catalogue where you'd like to save the results of multiplexing.
Ø Click the Prepare button to make the Start button available.
Ø Click Start.
Ø When process of multiplexing is over, the dialogue "Process complete" appears.
NOTE: If we switch Remuxer and Demuxer to PVA standard, it will be compatible with input PVA standard movies.
Now Muxer and Remuxer are compatible with streams included AC3Audio.
