This procedure is NOT like unzipping a database in XBase. If user wants 'clean' data, user can use the Import function in SQL Database Utility (Of course provided that the user did an Export of the data first!) What this procedure does is recreates the 'tables' from the XBase file system, and then imports the data, removes duplicates, does Indexes, Sequences them, Packages a 929u2015j nd analyzes them.
THIS PROCESS WILL TAKE ABOUT 2 HOURS TO COMPLETE.
Unzip the Xbase zip file to the Fo_data directory, ensuring that the data is 'clean' and free of any errors. All tables have been updated and are correct.
Obtain the latest copy of DBFILES.ORA from The CD-Rom
Copy this file to where you have the SQL *.EXE files - Normally C:\fidelio\SQL\
Open DATABASE UTILITIES - SQL
Click on Migration Wizard - xBase to Sql
When program opens, it will be on Open Page - There will be an OK button in the middle of your screen. Click OK. What this is doing is reading the SQL data dictionary. When this is done there maybe some errors. Check to see what they are before continuing. IF they are Tables/fields that are optional, or do not exist as yet (F & B/Sales and Catering) click continue/OK
Highlight TABLE STRUCTURES and click create. When this is done there maybe some errors. Check to see what they are before continuing. IF they are Tables/fields that are optional, or do not exist as yet (F & B/Sales and Catering) click continue/OK
Highlight IMPORT DATA and click create. When this is done there maybe some errors. Check to see what they are before continuing. IF they are Tables/fields that are optional, or do not exist as yet (F & B/Sales and Catering) click continue/OK
Highlight INDEXES and click create. When this is done there maybe some errors. Check to see what they are before continuing. IF they are Tables/fields that are optional, or do not exist as yet (F & B/Sales and Catering) click continue/OK
Highlight SEQUENCES and click create. When this is done there maybe some errors. Check to see what they are before continuing. IF they are Tables/fields that are optional, or do not exist as yet (F & B/Sales and Catering) click continue/OK
Highlight PACKAGES and click create. When this is done there maybe some errors. Check to see what they are before continuing. IF they are Tables/fields that are optional, or do not exist as yet (F & B/Sales and Catering) click continue/OK
Highlight ANALYZE and click create. When this is done there maybe some errors. Check to see what they are before continuing. IF they are Tables/fields that are optional, or do not exist as yet (F & B/Sales and Catering) click continue/OK
Now that this is all done, exit from this part of the program and you now have a NEW, NEW database to work with. HOWEVER before you do work with it, open Fconfig and Fidwin, close then and do a Export File (mentioned in the beginning) so that if you want clean data, all you need to do is Import it. The above procedure should only be done when there have been a lot of changes to Tables and /or additional Tables have been added OR Tables/fields added or deleted.
