INTRODUCTION:
4-Play is a 2-player game similar to the old Tic-Tac-Toe games that are
familiar to most everyone, but 4-Play expands on the old idea with added
spaces for game-play. Instead of playing on a 3 by 3 grid you now play
on a 4 by 4 grid that makes it more difficult to win.
OBJECT OF THE GAME:
For those few people that are not completely sure of the rules and the
game-play I will give a short description. The object of the game is to
get either four X's or O's lined up horizontally, vertically or diagonal
before your opponent. Once you have moved in a space you or your opponent
cannot move in that same space. When someone has lined four up, the game
will end and the next game will start.
HOW TO PLAY:
To play the game, all you do is click on the space that you wish your
X or O in and it will be placed there. Player one will use the O's and
player two will use the X's as their pieces. You will know which players
turn it is by looking in the message box in the lower part of the 4-Play
form, you will know also which pieces turn it is by looking in the small
box in the lower right-hand corner. If you fill up all the spaces without
a winner then the game is declared a draw and a new one is started. When
someone wins their score, which is located towards the bottom of the form,
will increase for each win.
OPTIONS:
At the top of the 4-Play form you will notice three menu commands that
will do the functions listed. The first one is Exit that will allow you
to exit the game. The second menu option if About that will present you
with some program information. The last option is Restart that will reset
the scores and start a new game. Both Exit and Restart ask you if you are
sure before they do anything.
REGISTERING 4-PLAY:
4-Play is not a free program, but instead a program that allows you to
play it for awhile and then if you like it you can send $5.00 to the
address listed below and register the program. Registering 4-Play will
not get you anything besides a thank you letter from Shortdog Inc. and
will show that you support the greatest invention of late... Shareware.
