VIE COM-CAM Mini PC Camera User Guide

I. Introducing;

a. Structure: VIE COM-CAM Mini PC Cam is a PC Camera directs connect to an USB connector. Two parts of device combine together including;

Mini PC Camera module with cover body.

250mm USB hard cable wire length 11211x2312l with USB connecter.

b. Specification;

c. Basic Computer inquire

l      A computer system equipped with Pentium II300 or above

l      One available USB port

l      Operating System: Windows 98 / 2000 / Me / XP

l      DRAM : 64MB or above.

l      12MB of free hard drive space

l      CD ROM

l      Sound card, speaker, and microphone are required for video and audio recording

l      A modem or LAN card is required for applications of video conference and video mail

l      Display Resolution: 640*480 VGA

l      WDM USA Driver

l      TWAIN

l      Direct Show

l      VFM Expansion Driver

l      DirectShow Recorder

II.    Install Driver

Make sure USB port is functionable before plug in the VIECOM-CAM Mini PC Camera.

Turn on the Computer Power first, and don't plug the VIECOM-CAM PC Camera yet.

Insert CD into CD Rom .

Click "My Computer" on the Desk Top screen.

Click CD Rom

File name appear "Driver"

Click "Driver", Click "Setup.exe"

Click "Next" after that.

Dialog window appear select "Program Folder".

Click "ICM532" and click "Next".

Select to download the new driver version if you want.

If select to download the new driver of version, click "Unreserved" files till finish the download.

Click "Finish" to complete the driver installation and restart windows system .

Plug the VIE COM-CAM into Computer USB port.

Windows will auto detect new USB device and configure the device automatically.

III. Adjusting Picture parameter.

VIE COM-CAM is able to adjust the picture parameters into your favor quality setting. Please read the follow instruction for adjustment;

Click "Start" icon, pointing the arrow to program and move right to ICM532. Click "AMCAP", screen shall display the image on the AMCAP window. If not, select "Options" on the top of the window, after click "Preview" you will be able to capture the image on screen.

Click "Options" on the top of the window, click "Video Capture Filter" to enter "8532 Camera Property Set", you can adjust the following values:

l    Auto Exposure

l    Anti Flickering: According to your Power frequency 50Hz or 60Hz.

l    Brightness

l    Contrast

l    Video Output:

*Mirror function.

*Vertical Flip

l    Saturation

l    Gamma

l    Sharpening

l    Quality

l    Restore Default

After configure all the values, click "Apply" to see if accepts.

Click "OK" back to video picture.

Click "Options" and click "Video Capture Pin", Frame rate sets on 30fps, color select "RGB24"or "I420". 5 pixel sizes are selectable:160x120, 176x144, 320x240, 352x288, 640x480 Click "OK" back to Video capture screen.

IV.Recording & Capture the picture;

a. Live Recording

Under operating the "AMCAP", click "File", click "Set Capture File", input file name, select file name<.avi>, click "Open" and click OK.

Click "Capture", if select "Capture Audio", will capture the picture with voice. Ignore "Master Stream" function.

Click "Set Frame Rate", you can set how many Frames per second. Click "Use Frame Rate", Click "OK" will complete your "Set Frame Rate" setting.

Click "Set Time Limit" is to set the record time. After setting, click "Use Time Limit", click "OK ", you may start to record the video. Click "Capture", aiming the VIECOM-CAM to the target, click "Start Capture" will indicate "ready to record", click "OK" will start recording. Timer starts to count down, and will stop until times out, record completed.

Click "My Document " on the desktop screen.

Click the recording file names to review the result.

Recording function can operate under "VidCap" program, too.

Click X to close "AMCAP", Back to Desktop.

Remarks: Press "ESC" key to stop recording if didn't set the recording time.

V. Capture single or Multi pictures.

Click "Start" icon, move arrow to "Programs", move arrow to ICM532" again, Click "VidCap" to see if capture video function is working. If no picture or error display, click the third pattern on the left screen, will see the live pictures.

Aiming VIE COM-CAM to the target, click fifth pattern on the left, will capture a still picture. Click "Files" and click "Save Single Frame" to set the file name. Click "Save" to storage your still mode of picture.

Browsing the files click "My Document" and click save file name, select "Imaging" program to view the storage file.

Click the third pattern on the left can recover the live video mode.

Click sixth pattern to capture still mode of pictures.

Click seventh pattern on the left to capture the Multi-Pictures. You could capture the picture under the TWAIN program, too.

Click "Start" and move arrow to program, click Application of the Imaging line.

Click files and click "Scan New Picture" function. Click "Video captures Pin".

Select "Color Space", click "RGB24", click OK, Screen will display the target view.

Click "Snapshot" can capture single picture,

Click "File" and save the files after input the file name, and complete the files saving.
