DON'T PLUG IN THE XCAM
BEFORE INSTALLED THE DRIVER
I. Basic Computer inquire:
lA computer system equipped with Pentium II 200 /
MMX /AMD K6 or above
lOne available USB port
lOperating System: Windows 98 / 2000 / Me / XP
lDRAM: 32 MB or above.
l12MB of free hard drive space
lCD ROM
lSound card, speaker, and microphone are required
for video and audio recording
lA modem or LAN card is required for applications
of video conference and video mail
lDisplay Resolution: 640*480 VGA
II. USB
PC Camera
lFocus Wheel:
Adjustable lens able focus from 5
cm - 60 cm - infinity
lDefault Focus in 60 cm of distance.
III. Install
Driver
Caution!!!!
lBecause Installation
require restart windows system
Close all the application windows before install the Xcam
Driver
lMake sure USB port is
functional before plug in the Xcam
lTurn on the Computer Power first, and don't plug
the Xcam PC Camera yet.
lInsert CD into CD Room, and show " Xcam VGA "
lClick " Xcam VGA " after
that click "Next". "Next" "Install"
lClick "Finish" to complete the driver
installation and restart windows system.
lPlug the Xcam into Computer USB port.
lWindows will auto detect new USB device and
configure the device automatically.
IV. Adjusting Picture parameter.
lXcam is able to adjust the picture parameters
into your favor quality setting. Please read the follow instruction for
adjustment;
lClick Star -> Program -> Xcam VGA -> AMCap
lClick Options -> Preview: Screen shall
display the image on the AMCap window.
lClick Options -> Top Screen : AMCAP window
able always on the top of all yourapplication windows
lClick Options -> Video Capture Filter ->
Proc Amp : You can adjust the following values:
lAuto Exposure
lAnti Flickering: According to your Power
frequency 50Hz or 60Hz.
lBrightness
lContrast
lVideo Output:
*Mirror
function.
*Vertical
Flip
lSaturation
lGamma
lSharpening
lQuality
lRestore Default
After
configure all the values, click "Apply" to see if accept.
Click
"OK" back to video picture.
lClick Options -> Video Capture Pin, Frame
rate sets on 30fps, color select "RGB24"or "I420". 5 pixel sizes are
selectable: 160x120, 176x144, 320x240, 352x288, 640x480 Click "OK" back to
Video capture screen.
V. Recording & Capture the
picture;
lLive Recording:
lUnder operating the "AMCAP", click "File", click
"Set Capture File", input file name, select file name<. avi>, click "Open" and click OK.
lClick "Capture", if select □"Capture
Audio", will capture the picture with voice. Ignore "Master
Stream" function.
lClick "Set Frame Rate"; you can set how many
Frames per second. Click □"Use Frame Rate", Click "OK"
will complete your "Set Frame Rate" setting.
lClick "Set Time Limit"
is to set the record time. After setting, click □"Use Time Limit", click
"OK ", you may start to record the video. Click "Capture", aiming the Xcam to
the target, click "Start Capture" will indicate "ready to record", click "OK"
will start recording. Timer starts to count down, and will stop until times
out, record completed.
lClick "My Document " on
the desktop screen.
lClick the recording file names to review the
result.
lRecording function can operate under "VidCap" program, too.
lClick X to close "AMCAP", Back to Desktop.
lRemarks: Press "ESC" key to stop recording if
didn't set the recording time.
VI. Capture single or Multi
pictures.
lClick Start -> Programs -> Xcam VGA -> VidCap to see if capture video function is working. If no
picture or error display, click the third pattern on the left screen, will see
the live pictures.
lAiming Xcam to the target, click fifth pattern
on the left, will capture a still picture. Click "Files" and click "Save Single
Frame" to set the file name. Click "Save" to storage your still mode of
picture.
lBrowsing the files click "My Document" and click
save file name, select "Imaging" program to view the
storage file.
lClick the third pattern on the left can recover
the live video mode.
lClick sixth pattern to capture still mode of
pictures.
lClick seventh pattern on the left to capture the
Multi-Pictures. You could capture the picture under the TWAIN program, too.
lClick Start-> Program -> Application of
the Imaging line.
lClick files and click "Scan New Picture"
function. Click "Video captures Pin".
lSelect "Color Space", click "RGB24", click OK,
Screen will display the target view.
lClick "Snapshot" can capture single picture,
lClick "File" and save the files after input the
file name, and complete the files saving.
