Setting up Survey Flycamp Network
This document describes recommended procedure to set-up the network while in survey flycamp.
The following devices are required to set-up the network:
iDirect VSAT modem/router to be setup properly (separate procedure available);
D-Link DIR-635 wireless router (already configured);
Office switch.
The network should be set-up as shown in the above figure:
Small piece of the outdoor unit of the dish (LNB) connects to Rx port of the iDirect modem;
Big piece of the outdoor unit of the dish (BUC) connects to Tx port of the iDirect modem;
LAN port of the iDirect modem connects to INTERNET port of the D-Link router using a standard network cable (twisted pair, RJ-45 connector, straight);
Any of the LAN ports of the D-Link router connects to any available port in the office switch using a standard network cable (twisted pair, RJ-45 connector, straight).
From the other ports of the office switch connect the desired devices (PCs, laptops, printers, plotter, etc.)
The D-Link router is DHCP enabled; any PC using DHCP will automatically be assigned an IP address by the router, there is no need for manual configuration, only printers and plotters will have to be manually configured.
The next section will describe the recommended procedure to manually set-up a network printer/plotter.
