ACT6C2 (Static Routing) Cover Sheet
I. Decide Upon Audience (classroom learning environment, or "activity system", how does this activity fit? What prior knowledge does it assume? Is this a whole class activity, small group activity, competitive-team activity, or individual activity?)
ACT6C2 is a conceptual troubleshooting activity that verifies students' knowledge of fundamental routing while establishing connectivity between networks.
This activity covers CCNA 2, Module 6 - Routing and Routing Protocols. This activity could be for small groups or individuals.
II. Decide Upon Topic (semester, module, TI; claims, evidence, task)
CCNA 2, Module 6 - Routing and Routing Protocols, TI 6.1.1 - Introduction to Routing; TI 6.1.2 - Static Route Operation; TI 6.1.3 - Configuring Static Routes; and TI 6.1.6 - Troubleshooting Static Route Configuration.
III. Decide Upon Design Pattern (modeling/inquiry concept-building problem OR pre/post lab, configuration, skill building problem OR design problem OR troubleshooting problem OR combination)
The design pattern is a combination of concept-building and troubleshooting. Students will not build the physical network; however students will need to correctly examine the network, diagnose the symptoms, determine the problem, then solve the problem by performing the basic steps required to configure static routes.
IV. Decide Upon Type of Assignment (from scratch, pre-existing .pkt, .pka, multi-step) and Type of Guidance (none, built-in, accompanying lab handout, or .swf tutorial); from 1 .pkt you could have various .pka based on it
The physical network is provided in a .pkt file including the initial router and workstation configurations. Instructions are provided in the .pka file and additional lab.
V. Author Activity Files (.pkt, .pka, .doc, .gif)
All files are included.
The activity has been tested.
