Using PowerPro > Knots > Albright
Use for splicing small diameter PowerPro to larger diameter monofilament.
1) Bend a loop in the monofilament, hold it with your left hand. Double 30" of PowerPro and pass the end of the doubled line t 10310r1714k hrough the loop as in figure 1. Allow at least 12 to 15 inches.
2) Hold the tag end around the forefinger of your left hand. You will now make 20 to 25 wraps around the monofilament, starting at your forefinger and working towards the front of the loop; make sure the wraps are neatly next to each other forming a cocoon.
3) After completing the wraps, insert the PowerPro tag back through the monofilament loop so that it exits on the same side of the loop it entered. Wet the PowerPro, and pull simultaneously on the standing line and tag end to jam the wraps together towards the closed end of the mono. Tip: Hold your forefinger against the PowerPro wraps to keep them in place while jamming the knot.
4) Pull slowly with the standing line portion of the doubled lines making sure you form a well ordered knot with each wrap neatly seated against the next. Guide the wraps with your forefinger as the knot tightens. Important: Pull the knot as tight as you can, then use soft jawed pliers or a gloved hand to seat the knot even tighter. The PowerPro around the monofilament should feel very hard.
5) Finally pull on the standing parts of both lines one last time to make sure the knot is seated securely.
1) To lock the knot so that the PowerPro cannot slip out, make a loop with the PowerPro tag and wrap three times around the standing line. (You are making a half hitch with two extra wraps). For a smaller lock, back wrap the loops towards the Albright before tightening.
2) Trim the tag ends and the knot should look like figure 2.
