Prezentul continuu se formeaza cu "to be si participiul prezent al verbului de conjugat.

El munceste īn gradina acum.
He is working in the garden now.
2) Ortografia participiului prezent:
to stop - stopping = a se opri
to refer - referring = a se referi la.
to travel - travelling = a calatori
to control - controlling = a controla
"-y " final se pastreaza indiferent daca este precedat de consoana sau vocala.
ex.
to study - studying = a studia
to play - playing = a se juca
"-ie " final se transforma īn "-y ".
ex.
t o lie - lying = a minti
to die - dying = a muri

to agree - agreeing = a fi deacord
to be - being = a fi
to see - seeing = a vedea
to dye - dyeing = a vopsi

3) Prezentul continuu este folosit pentru a exprima:
a) o actiune īn desfasurare īn momentul vorbirii.
Asculta ! Ea cānta īn baia.
Listen ! She is singing in the bathroom.
b) aceasta īntrebuintare este marcata de obicei de adverbe de timp:
ex.
- now = acum;
- right now = chiar acum;
- at this moment = īn acest moment;
ex.
Ce face Dan acum Se barbireste.
What is doing Dan now ? He is shaving.
c) o actiune obisnuita repetata, prezenta īn desfasurarea ei.
ex.
Totdeauna īmi i-au umbrela cu mine cānd ploua.
I always take my umbrella when it is raining.
El totdeauna īsi face temele
He always is doing his homework ?
Vecinul meu īntotdeauna īsi porneste masina cānd vreau sa ma odihnesc.
My neightboor is always starting his car when I want to have a rest.
Prezentul continuu este deasemenea folosit pentru a desemna o actiune viitoare planificata din prezent.
